Age categories.
Lokomotiva CUP is played in birth-year categories for boys. Each edition announces its own years, and match length and ball size follow the age group.
Teams enter by birth year, not by school grade. The organizers publish the exact years for each edition together with the invitation, so a squad that played one year may move up to the next category the following December.
Three or four categories are played at the same time across both halls, which is what gives the tournament its mini Champions League feel.

How the age group changes the match
Every category takes the settings of its place in the tournament, so the oldest group plays the longest match with the largest ball.
| Category | Match length | Ball size | Suspension |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2010 · oldest | 2 × 25 min | Size 3 | 2 minutes |
| 2012 · middle | 2 × 20 min | Size 2 | 1 minute |
| 2014 · youngest | 2 × 20 min | Size 1 | 1 minute |
Half-time break is five minutes in every category.
